West Texas Woman Going Against the Norm
Miriam Manriquez is a trailblazer from West Texas! A decade ago, she left her marketing career to establish her own woman-owned HVAC business. In a male-dominated industry, Miriam decided to start “Heating and Air Conditioning Services."
"At first, it was hard telling people that I was the decision maker; they expected a man. Even now, I don't know many women in HVAC," Miriam shared.
Despite the challenges, Miriam persevered. Her company now serves 31 counties across the Permian Basin and New Mexico. Heating and Air Conditioning Services has become a testament to West Texas resilience and determination.
"We are a West Texas grown company. The demand was here, the customers were here—West Texas made us," Miriam said.
Miriam is also very involved in the community and working to make a difference. She is part of Hispanic Heritage of Odessa.
